// THE SHORT ANSWER
Information undertakings are the borrower's promises about what it will tell the bank and when: management accounts monthly or quarterly, annual accounts at a stated level of assurance within a stated number of days of year end, compliance certificates, budgets, and prompt notice of anything material. They are how a lender keeps reading a file between reviews. Breaching them is rarely what makes a loan go wrong, but late or thin reporting is one of the earliest signs that something already has.

Every borrower on this site is a composite constructed for teaching, not a client. The market is mid-market commercial lending as practised in New Zealand and Australia; where a convention differs elsewhere, the page says so.
