CASE 01 · NORTHMARK ENGINEERING LTD.
// WHAT IS IN IT
Northmark Engineering is a components manufacturer asking for a working capital increase. Revenue is up. The order book is real. The request is a round number, and the cash conversion cycle underneath it has quietly lengthened by three weeks. The file reads as growth and behaves as something else, and the whole case is about which of those the numbers actually support.
You get the file as it lands, the diagnostic worked line by line, the credit decision with its alternatives priced, the ninety seconds you would say out loud in an interview, and the three places an interviewer pivots once you have said it. That is the same four-movement structure every case in the volume runs — this one is simply not behind the price.
It also carries the two front-matter pages on what interviewers are actually grading: the order of inquiry that separates a banker from a spreadsheet, and the three signals that get marked whether or not anyone says so.
Northmark Engineering is a composite. It reflects patterns observed across the author's commercial banking practice and does not represent any actual borrower, transaction, or institution — the same discipline every drill on this site runs under, and the sample PDF says so again on its last page.
Held back for the paid volume: Larchfield Logistics (quality of earnings), Oakfield Dairy (production economics and succession), Northbridge Apartments (construction lending), the interview-craft chapters, the thirty-four term glossary, and the Excel workbook that carries one live sheet per case.
